De wereld is mooi. De wereld is lelijk.
Het lijkt alleen alsof de lelijkheid overheerst. Al jaren lang is bekend dat de kledingindustrie niet goed is, de voedselindustrie is ruk, de woningmarkt is naar de klote, het schoolsysteem faalt, enorme inflatie, de aarde warmt op, de zeespiegel stijgt en oorlog breekt uit. Is de wereld echt meer lelijk dan mooi?
Er heerst een constante dreiging van grote ongrijpbare onderwerpen. Bij Club Wake willen we hierover praten. Niet om oplossingen te bedenken maar om manieren te vinden om hier mee om te gaan en zaken in perspectief te plaatsen. We onderzoeken manieren om hiermee om te gaan en vragen ons af of dit iets van alle tijden is.

We kijken een documentaire of een aflevering van Tegenlicht of Zembla bijvoorbeeld (over een van de grote topics) en kunnen met elkaar in gesprek.
Deze keer kijken we Home (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1014762/) Een prachtige documentaire uit 2009 welke laat zien hoe nauw de mens en de natuur met elkaar verbonden zijn, en hoe de mensheid het ecologische evenwicht van de planeet bedreigt.
